In recent years, China’s economy has been in a process of “shifting from extensive to refined” development, with many companies weighed down by inventory, rent, staffing, and other burdens. More businesses are starting to consider one common question:How can technology and business model innovation be used to improve the operational efficiency of existing business?
When “New Retail” has been packaged by various events as a cure-all “miracle drug,” the 10th ISPO Sports Industry Forum—the most trend-driven window event that ISPO brings to China’s sports industry—kicking off on January 18, 2019, presents a brand-new concept—“Industry Lightweighting”.

This forum, focusing on “Digitalization” and “Professional Services,” will provide a comprehensive interpretation of “lightweighting” in supply chains and retail models for sports brands and retailers, helping more brands and retailers achieve a “successful transition.”
The morning session of the forum will focus on “Digital Technology Empowering Supply Chain Lightweighting,” opening with a speech by Dean Jing Linbo from the China Social Sciences Evaluation Academy titled “Innovation in Sports Industry Models under the New Economic Situation,” introducing the path of industrial development under the complex and ever-changing international environment and China’s new economic landscape. Following that, Mr. Chen Guo, Global Partner at IBM Global Business Services, will deliver a speech on “Digital Full Value Chain Operations,” sharing insights from his 26 years of professional consulting experience on where the key links in “enterprise digital transformation” truly lie. Meanwhile, Mr. Zheng Qingyu, CEO of Lüzhi Technology, will showcase the real value 3D technology brings to brands through practical cases from Under Armour.
The afternoon forum will shift its focus to “Professional Services Empowering Retail Model Lightweighting,” where Mr. Cheng Zhiyuan, founder of Banma Travel, and Ms. Ou Haifang, founder of Shuoning Business, will introduce to retailers how “sports tourism” and the “C2M (Customer-to-Manufacturer) model” can help retail enterprises improve their business models and product structures to achieve “retail model lightweighting.” Ms. Gao Wei’e, founder of Zi Shan Yu Huwai, who has been deeply involved in online retail for many years, will share her thoughts on “how offline physical stores can ‘empower’ online retail,” bringing more confidence to physical sports retailers about future development. Mr. Sun Jian, Planning Director at Alibaba’s Alimama, will also discuss “what new forms of ‘New Retail’ Alibaba plans to explore after proposing the concept of ‘New Retail.’”
In addition to these insightful guest speeches, the forum will also feature two exclusive releases:China’s Annual Development Report on Canoeing and KayakingandChina Outdoor Products Market Survey Report. Undoubtedly, these two top-tier domestic industry reports will provide more detailed data to support future trends in industry development.
Such rich and substantial content is not only a New Year’s gift from ISPO to the entire industry but also a great opportunity for the industry to look forward to a new round of development. We sincerely invite all brands and retailers in the industry to join this feast of ideas.
