The countdown to the Siguniang Mountain Ice Climbing Festival has begun — only 5 spots left!

       Christmas has just passed, and the New Year is fast approaching. During the New Year’s holiday, the highly anticipated Siguniang Mountain Ice Climbing Festival will be grandly held from January 1 to 4, 2012, in Shuangqiaogou Valley of Siguniang Mountain.

 

       According to the latest information from the ice climbing festival’s organizing committee: registration is now in its final countdown. The deadline is 5 PM on December 28. Since the organizing committee has limited the number of participants to 100 and due to the large number of group registrations, while individual applicants will be given priority, there are only 5 spots remaining and no further public registrations will be accepted after that. The committee hopes more ice climbing enthusiasts will sign up quickly to join top climbers on an icy adventure and journey of dreams.

 

 

       It is reported that during the festival, various competitive events and activities will be held, including free-style ice climbing, ice climbing training, speed climbing competitions, ice climbing knowledge lectures and exchanges, as well as a festival networking party. Since the first Siguniang Mountain Ice Climbing Festival was held in 2010, this year marks the third edition. Each year, the festival attracts top ice climbers and enthusiasts from across China and around the world to experience the unique thrill of Siguniang’s ice walls. As another major event promoting the development of public-interest ice climbing in China, this year’s festival will continue to support the growth of amateur mountaineering and exploration sports.
