According to the Tianjin Municipal Sports Bureau, the 2012 Snow Polo World Cup will take place from February 4 to 12 at the Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club this year.
It is understood that the 2012 Snow Polo World Cup is the first snow polo event organized by the International Polo Federation in China. At that time, teams from 12 countries and regions will participate, including the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong (China), India, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States.
Following the first international snow polo tournament last year, the Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club—the largest polo club in China—will host another snow polo competition with an even higher level and status.
From February 4 to 12, 2012, the FIP (International Polo Federation) Snow Polo World Cup will be held in Tianjin. This marks the first time the Snow Polo World Cup comes to Asia, with teams from 12 countries and regions around the world participating.
During the 9-day event, in addition to regular snow polo matches, the organizers have set up numerous interactive activities for spectators, such as snowball fights, live band performances featuring hip-hop, jazz, and classical music. There will also be supporting entertainment options including sleigh rides, a winter shopping village, ice hockey, and an ice bar with ice sculptures.
