Enes Pepat showcases ice climbing
The fourth World Ice Climbing Championship winner, Enes Pepat from Germany, gave an ice climbing performance for visitors on the side towers located on both sides of the Celebration Plaza of the Ice and Snow World’s main building.
At 17:00 on the evening of the 11th, after carefully checking the safety of her equipment, Pepat began ascending step by step using her ice axe and crampons. About 10 minutes later, she successfully reached the top. “This is my first time in Harbin,” Pepat told reporters. “The ice here is great for climbing and of very good quality.” It is understood that on January 4, Pepat had already successfully test-climbed the tallest ice structure in Ice and Snow World — the 46-meter-tall Celebration Plaza. In the coming days, she will continue to challenge more difficult ice structures within Ice and Snow World.
