According to the UK's Sunday Times, VF Corporation and Puma have recently been bidding to acquire the Norwegian outdoor brand Helly Hansen, with an estimated purchase price of around £200 million.
Since 2006, the parent company of Helly Hansen has been the Nordic private equity investment firm Altor Equity Partners. Currently, Helly Hansen has 470 employees worldwide, with total revenue of €170 million in 2010.
About Helly Hansen:
In 1877, Helly Juell Hansen founded the Helly Hansen brand in Norway, primarily producing outdoor clothing for sailing, skiing, and other activities. The brand’s designs emphasize functionality and style. With a core focus on Nordic aesthetics, the collections highlight fashionable cuts, clean lines, tailored fits, and a simple, comfortable style. In 2009, Hong Kong-based Sun Fung Fashion Limited became the brand’s general agent in China, officially introducing Helly Hansen to the Chinese market. The brand now has flagship stores in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Hangzhou.
