Since the launch of the “Star Picking Plan,” Taichung’s “Audit Village” has garnered considerable attention. Currently, 26 units within the village are in operation, and in the future, it will continue to be jointly managed by “Earth’s Trendiest Company,” the team behind Red Dot Hotel. The entrepreneurs who have settled in so far have all attracted significant interest. Chen Yalu from Earth’s Trendiest Company recommends three studios—focused on painting, hand-carving, and combining agriculture with youth and senior citizen engagement—for travelers to check out.

Warm Starry Sky
Warm Starry Sky focuses mainly on art education in rural areas and operates as a painting studio. Once visitors arrive on-site, they’re provided with tools and “unlimited paint.” All they need to do is pick their favorite canvas and they can start painting anywhere in Audit Village. Some people have even brought a bottle of red wine and spent a relaxing afternoon painting in the village. The studio welcomes children as young as those who can talk. Materials include watercolor, colored pencils, acrylics, and more. Warm Starry Sky also travels to rural areas to teach kids how to paint.

Carve Carve
Named “Carve Carve” because everything is entirely hand-carved, the shop primarily uses precious Taiwanese cypress and camphor wood. Many materials are also sourced from second-hand shops or driftwood collected by the Forestry Bureau. Here you can find cypress plates, fruit trays, utensils crafted from old wood salvaged from vintage houses, as well as various small items like business card holders—all exquisitely made.

Paul’s Market
The hottest drink shop in Audit Village, Paul’s Market mainly sells cold-pressed juices, using cold-press technology to preserve the original nutrients of the fruits. With the philosophy of “youth and seniors learning together,” Paul’s Market adopts an agricultural exhibition model to provide a sales platform for local small-scale farmers. It also enables young people to help middle-aged and elderly individuals (senior citizens) find employment, offering a practical solution to social issues surrounding the aging workforce.
