Folio Daan Taipei, the first hotel of Fubon Group (HowToTrip: 富艺旅), has recently opened, and its in-house Italian restaurant, Port23, officially launched last week. Located near the Da’an business district and featuring a spacious dining environment, the restaurant offers business lunches under NT$300, attracting many nearby office workers to dine and conduct business meetings.
Like all hotels, Fullon Hotel Port23 also offers breakfast. To make full use of the space, the hotel initially planned and designed its in-house restaurant “Port23,” which reinterprets the culinary cultures of five major Italian cities—Capri, Venice, Milan, Sicily, and Siena—using carefully selected local Taiwanese ingredients. It also provides lunch, afternoon tea, and all-day dining, offering a wide variety of meal options including appetizers, soups, light salads, pasta, risotto, desserts, and beverages.

▲ Caprese-style tomato and cheese plate with Italian fruit vinegar gel.

The lunch set menu includes linguine with garlic, olive oil, and clams (NT$260), squid ink gnocchi with garlic and cuttlefish (NT$280), salmon and seafood vegetable rolls with Oro sauce (NT$280), beef short rib risotto with wild mushrooms in port wine (NT$280), ultra-wide pappardelle with rich wine wild mushroom foie gras (NT$300), and crispy fried fresh crab risotto with king prawns and tomato sauce (NT$300). All come with black tea, green tea, oolong tea, and Americano coffee.
Among them, the squid ink gnocchi with garlic and cuttlefish is inspired by the iconic Venetian dish, squid ink pasta. However, unlike traditional versions, this dish mixes squid ink and potatoes into the dough, which is then hand-kneaded and rolled into small gnocchi, allowing diners to enjoy the fresh flavor of squid ink pasta without worrying about ink stains on their mouths.

The beef short rib risotto with wild mushrooms in port wine incorporates Taiwanese elements, using Taiwan’s five-grain rice paired with cabbage sprouts and king oyster mushrooms. The beef short ribs are selected from American beef ribs and braised with Australian red wine with a slightly sour plum flavor and Portuguese port wine with a sweet, mellow taste, resulting in tender texture.
To celebrate the opening, from launch until August 31, enjoy a 10% discount on single purchases over NT$500, 15% off on purchases over NT$1000, or buy four get one free on lunch sets during lunchtime hours.
