On October 18, 2018, the five-day 2018 China Hot Air Balloon Performance Competition and Flight Experience Event concluded successfully in Xingyi. As a warm-up event for the 2018 International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports Congress, this hot air balloon performance competition heralded a new era of multi-dimensional, all-region outdoor tourism in Xingyi, and opened up the “sky’s eye” for tourism in southwestern Guizhou. It also played a positive role in promoting the development of low-altitude sports tourism across Xingyi and the broader southwestern Guizhou region.
With a series of distinctive events taking place, the 2018 China Hot Air Balloon Performance Competition and Flight Experience Event has now come to an end. This event was of great significance, allowing local residents and numerous domestic and international visitors to experience the charm of Xingyi from the sky, further realizing the perfect integration of “sports + tourism,” and enhancing Xingyi’s international visibility and influence.
