From April 3 to April 4, the Seventh "Salewa Cup" National Outdoor Skills Competition of Peking University Mountain Eagle Society grandly opened at the cliff of the First Stadium by Weiming Lake on the Peking University campus. Representatives from the Peking University Department of Physical Education and the Student Group Department of the Peking University Youth League Committee attended the opening ceremony.
The Mountain Eagle Society is the first student organization in China to focus on mountaineering and rock climbing as its main activities and is also one of the most capable mountaineering groups in the country. The Outdoor Skills Competition, as an important part of the Mountain Eagle Society's 23-year club culture, has a seven-year history of being held. Since achieving great success in its third edition, it has become a national-level event with gradually expanding scale. The two-day competition mainly features events including high-altitude skills (such as the Brave Ladder Climb and Survival Challenge), field skills (like wilderness rescue and equipment use), rock climbing and bouldering, orienteering, as well as an outdoor forum.
