On April 10, 2012, the Chinese Mountaineering Association and Cyber International Holdings signed a cooperation agreement to jointly establish the China Cyber Extreme Adventure Team. This is the first nationally recognized outdoor extreme adventure team officially formed with approval from the Chinese Mountaineering Association. In the future, it will represent the Chinese team in domestic and international outdoor sports competitions and actively organize and plan a series of events that contribute to public welfare through extreme adventure activities. At the press conference, the extreme adventure team, led by Bai Bin, an outstanding Chinese extreme adventurer, made its official debut and unveiled a series of event plans for the Olympic year. Li Zhixin, Director of the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, Zhang Jiangyuan, Deputy Director of the Mountaineering Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, and Zhu Jiayi, Executive Director of Cyber Plaza, attended the press conference.

It is understood that this strong "China Cyber Extreme Adventure Team" is sponsored by Cyber International Holdings, a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group, a Fortune 500 company based in Taiwan. This also marks another in-depth collaboration between the two sides in promoting the development of outdoor sports in China, following their successful joint organization of the "Towards the Silk Road       Embracing a Harmonious Society" cross-strait Silk Road extreme adventure event last year.

The team is composed of outstanding domestic athletes. The team captain, Bai Bin, is a mountain and outdoor sports athlete from Guizhou who has won top honors in numerous domestic and international outdoor sports competitions. Team members Yang Jiagen, Huang Long, and Chen Chunyan are also elite mountain and outdoor sports athletes who stood out through rigorous selection and have demonstrated outstanding performance in various outdoor events. Notably, Lin Yijie, a Taiwanese extreme sports world champion and Cyber’s public welfare ambassador, will serve as the coach of the adventure team. Lin Yijie and Bai Bin, during last year’s "Towards the Silk Road, Embracing a Harmonious Society" event, demonstrated extraordinary perseverance by trekking 10,000 kilometers together to complete the historic feat of crossing the ancient Silk Road on foot. In 2012, these two explorers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait will collaborate once again and are set to add another remarkable chapter to China’s outdoor adventure sports during the Olympic year.

At the press conference, the athletes stated that they challenge limits and push beyond themselves all for the sake of one shared dream — contributing to public welfare and environmental causes, and giving back to society with love and responsibility. This year, the theme of the adventure team’s activities will continue to focus on public welfare, aiming to raise awareness about glacier protection across society and call for active action to combat global warming. An extreme adventure activity themed "Crossing the Himalayas, Protecting Glaciers" is also currently under active preparation.

How to protect glaciers and preserve our living environment? This is something the entire society must face. The adventure team, jointly established by the Chinese Mountaineering Association and Cyber International Holdings, plans to select a route in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China for a hiking traverse between July and August this year, while assessing the current state of the Himalayan glaciers along the way. By harnessing the power of extreme adventure sports to promote public welfare and environmental awareness, they aim to draw attention from all sectors of society to glaciers and the ecological environment, and collectively contribute to curbing global warming.

Li Zhixin, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Mountaineering Association and renowned mountaineer, mentioned in his speech at the press conference: "The purpose of challenging limits is not to conquer nature. Discovering the beauty of nature and finding the path to harmonious coexistence between humans and nature is the true essence that every genuine outdoor sports enthusiast seeks. The Chinese Mountaineering Association and Cyber International Holdings will engage in more friendly and in-depth collaborations in the future, contributing even greater efforts to environmental protection and public welfare causes."
