1. Orange Peel: About an hour before traveling, fold a fresh orange peel outward, then inward, and squeeze it with your fingers against both nostrils so that an aromatic oil mist sprays out. Inhale it 10 or more times. Repeat this method anytime during the journey as needed.
2. Fresh Ginger: While in transit, hold a slice of fresh ginger and place it under your nose from time to time, letting the pungent scent enter your nostrils. You can also stick the ginger slice onto your navel and secure it with a pain-relieving plaster.
3. Essential Balm: During the trip, apply essential balm to your temples or Fengchi acupoints. Alternatively, drop two drops of essential balm on your navel and cover it with a pain-relieving plaster.
4. Vinegar: Drink a cup of warm water mixed with vinegar before your trip to help prevent motion sickness during the journey.
5. Pain-Relieving Plaster: Before your trip, apply a pain-relieving plaster to your navel to significantly help prevent motion sickness.
6. Metoclopramide: Take one tablet of metoclopramide, or two tablets if you have severe motion sickness. The dosage for children should be adjusted accordingly. Take it 10–15 minutes before boarding to prevent motion sickness. For trips longer than two hours where symptoms reappear, take another tablet. If taking the medication midway, stand for 15–20 minutes after taking it before sitting down to allow proper absorption. This method has an effectiveness rate of 97% and does not cause side effects such as dry mouth or dizziness, which are common with other anti-motion sickness pills.
