Motorcycle-Roaming Dessert Shop: Handmade “Tainan Danzai Noodles” Turn Out to Be Delicious Cake

In Tainan, there is a dessert shop called “8号人手作甜点” that roams around selling sweets on a vintage Yamaha scooter, sparking a local craze. Recently, their Danzai Noodles-shaped cake has earned considerable fame online.

What’s even more special is that the Danzai Noodles cake is made to order, using a honey chiffon tangzhong sponge cake filled with Japanese Fuji apple jelly. The exterior is piped with locally sourced, toxin-free yellow sweet potato mousse, while the “minced pork” on the side is actually chocolate crumble. The “shrimp” are made from marshmallows. Premium French butter and imported chocolate are also used in the ingredients. At first glance, it looks like a bowl of Danzai Noodles, but the taste offers an unexpectedly delightful surprise.

Run by two young entrepreneurs with a dream, the shop aims to interact face-to-face with customers. Modeled after foreign food trucks, they roam the alleys of Tainan at irregular times, selling delicious desserts such as lemon tarts, chocolate tarts, and madeleines—all popular items—usually starting to sell around 2 or 3 pm daily.
▲They offer a wide variety of products, and have recently expanded into online sales, allowing people from other regions to enjoy these treats as well.
