Checking into the "Angel's Tear" mountain hut without applying results in a 50% service fee surcharge and account suspension

The breathtaking scenery of Lake Jiamei, known as the "Angel's Tear," captivates everyone and attracts many hikers, but the Taitung Forest District Office recently discovered that a small number of hikers, unable to descend on the same day or arriving without prior mountain hut accommodation permits, have caused inconveniences for management staff. As a result, the Taitung Forest District Office announced that starting immediately, any hiker who checks into a mountain hut or campsite due to weather conditions or other special circumstances without prior application must not only pay the full accommodation fee but also a 50% service fee surcharge, and will face account suspension as a penalty.

The Taitung Forest District Office stated that starting this year, several new regulations have been introduced for the Jiamei Lake National Trail, including:
1. Implementing a total visitor cap for Jiamei Lake.
2. Enforcing a fee-based system for mountain hut accommodations.
3. Requiring all hikers planning a same-day round trip to Jiamei Lake to apply in advance; on-site applications will not be accepted.

These regulations not only help distribute hiking crowds during holidays but also allow visitors to enjoy the tranquility of the alpine landscape. The Taitung Forest District Office also urges all hikers planning to stay at the mountain huts and campsites along the Jiamei Lake National Trail, as well as those few hikers who need to pass through Jiamei Lake to reach the southern section of the Yushan National Park (the Yushan South Route), to apply in advance and obtain the necessary accommodation permit before entering.
