It is understood that all members of the Everest climbing team plan to return to Wuhan at noon on the 26th. “Chen Chen is on her way down and should be here soon.” At around 5 p.m. yesterday, a reporter contacted Cao Zhikai, a member stationed at the Everest base camp. According to him, the four climbers who reached the summit had originally planned to return from the advance camp to the base camp yesterday, but because Dong Fan was concerned about work back at the team, he, along with Deqing Ouzhu and Ciren Dandar, went down the mountain early without resting. Chen Chen stayed behind at the advance camp to complete other tasks before withdrawing. “Reaching the summit was extremely tough, and they could only eat instant food along the way,” said Cao Zhikai. To ensure the four could rest well upon their return, the team members staying at the base camp had made full preparations. “When welcoming Teacher Dong Fan, Deqing Ouzhu, and Ciren Dandar, we prepared flowers, hadas, and spare ribs with lotus root soup,” he said with a smile.
