In 2005, while on holiday on the beach in Brighton, UK, Tom, lying on the sand, suddenly had an idea and took a "joint photo" of his and his girlfriend Verity's feet lying side by side, with the blue sea in the background.
Since then, the travel-loving Tom and his girlfriend Verity embarked on their journey around the world, visiting a total of 31 countries over the past six years. Although they also enjoyed taking photos in front of famous landmarks like many other tourists, what Tom photographed was not photos of them with the tourist sites, but photos of their "feet" with the famous landmarks instead.
