Last updated 2026-09-24 — Recently, a series of vibrant Disney-themed cakes have appeared on Instagram—not direct cartoon replicas, but unique, dreamlike cakes that incorporate the characteristics of the characters. While such cakes are not uncommon on foreign websites, they’re quite rare in Taiwan. The creator of these magical cakes is Vivian, an 8th grader (born in 1999) who’s only 23 years old this year.

Recently, a series of vibrant Disney-themed cakes have appeared on Instagram—not direct cartoon replicas, but unique, dreamlike cakes that incorporate the characteristics of the characters. While such cakes are not uncommon on foreign websites, they’re quite rare in Taiwan. The creator of these magical cakes is Vivian, an 8th grader (born in 1999) who’s only 23 years old this year.

Vivian, who lives in Hsinchu, taught herself how to bake cakes over four years out of interest. Last year, she started collaborating with external shops to sell sliced cakes, and later began selling her handmade cakes online in June this year with the support of her family. Vivian is a huge Disney fan—her room is filled with Disney dolls—so she draws inspiration from Disney characters, designing and matching them based on their traits and appearances to create a variety of dreamy, colorful cakes, focusing on being “dreamlike,” “cartoonish,” and “customized.”

Her family and friends have all tasted her cakes and serve as her sources of feedback. Most friends describe them as pretty and delicious, while elders are surprised to find them not overly sweet but unexpectedly enjoyable.

These dreamy Disney cakes are all based on chiffon or cheesecake, topped with chocolate ganache glaze, and decorated with sugar beads purchased from the U.S., along with refreshing whipped cream, meringues, and fruits.

Regarding her cake creations, she has strong ideas—believing they are more than just edible treats, but also gifts. She thinks cakes are something memorable, hoping recipients will be deeply impressed and forever remember this “gift,” rather than just eating it and forgetting.

Currently, the most popular chiffon cake is the “Unicorn Earl Grey Chiffon,” which varies slightly depending on the customer’s preferred color scheme. Recently, she also launched a gummy bear series—the addition of gummies makes them even cuter and adds another layer of texture.

▲ Inspired by the cartoon My Little Pony, this design results in an ultra-childlike pony fruit cheesecake.

The most popular type of cheesecake is the “My Little Pony Fruit Cheesecake,” which uses refreshing rainbow colors paired with fruit chunks to create a playful vibe, very much in the spirit of My Little Pony. Another popular item is the “Ariel’s Splash,” themed around The Little Mermaid, using the mermaid’s color palette along with shells and starfish to bring the underwater world onto the cake.

Such beautiful icing cakes aren’t as expensive as you might think. Each custom cake is priced differently based on size—ranging from 4-inch to 6-inch, with prices approximately between NT$380 and NT$750. Since she handles both the business and baking roles alone, she currently only offers in-person pick-up in Hsinchu; friends from other cities would need to come by in person to get one.
