On July 5th, the weather was kind, the summer heat in the capital had lifted, and a touch of coolness lingered from the night into the early morning. My son had just finished his semester’s coursework. With the full set of COLEMAN camping gear, our family joyfully embarked on an experience journey to the Peach Blossoms Car Camping Site.
This is a valley surrounded by mountains, with large colorful English letters on the mountainside—ROCKLAND—showcasing the culture of travel by wheels. Scattered among the hills were peaches dressed in paper garments, making one truly appreciate the fitting name of the campsite: “Deep in the Peach Blossoms.”
It was Thursday, so the crowds hadn’t yet arrived. Here, there was nothing but greenery and the serene beauty of water and mountain views. Walking along a quaint stone bridge path and looking up the hill, European-style wooden villas were built against the slopes, each unique in form. They divided the campsite into fully functional zones—the RV area, tent zone, wooden cabin zone, picnic area, rest area, and more... My son dashed to the basketball court, insisting on starting a game first. Oh, just a moment, hold your horses.
We first checked into a delicate European-style wooden cabin. Stepping onto the small wooden terrace, entering the house, passing through a small foyer, and walking by a hallway with a loft bed, the inner room had two single beds, accommodating up to four people in total. The facilities were simple, neat, and clean. The TV wall and the logs by the bedside, along with the floral curtains, blended harmoniously with the greenery outside.
Approaching noon, we headed to the uniquely decorated three-story wooden cabin restaurant. Enthusiastic staff served up a thoughtfully prepared nutritious lunch that was delicious in color, aroma, and taste, leaving all three of us full and satisfied.
Next came several intense family basketball matches and a few tennis games. Without the scorching sun, the cool breeze and moist air made the vigorous activities especially comfortable and enjoyable.
The most lively activity was fishing. In the vast fish pond, we often spotted catfish swimming leisurely. We quickly picked our rods, baited our hooks, and before long, amidst the sound of the breeze and cicadas, we had our first catches. When the float bobbed, a catfish weighing over three pounds bit the hook. What followed was a flurry of scooping, bucket-lifting, rod-reeling, and fish-catching—total chaos, but enormous fun.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we took out our full set of COLEMAN gear—we pitched the tent, inflated the air mattress, set up the table and chairs, assembled the stove, and opened the cooler... The charcoal emitted thin trails of smoke, and soon, our sense of smell took over. Chicken wings glistening with oil, mingling with the aromas of bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions, instantly filled the valley. My son played his favorite music, devoured skewers, sipped juice happily, and chatted enthusiastically about the earlier basketball games... Oh yes, let’s take a group photo to capture this wonderful moment.
