Sponsored exclusively by Black Diamond, a brand represented by Shenzhen Himalaya, the third autumn round of the Shenzhen Rock Climbing Tour was successfully held on October 14th at the Bosheng Climbing Gym in Shekou, Shenzhen.
This edition of the tour saw 60 participants register, partly due to the abundance of nearby climbing competitions and events. Nevertheless, the participation enthusiasm of local Shenzhen climbers reached an all-time high in recent years, with a notable increase in new climbers. Elite teams from several major climbing gyms in Shenzhen, student teams from the Motivation Society at Shenzhen University, as well as skilled climbers from Zhuhai’s Beijing Normal University, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and other locations all took part. The competition was divided into four categories: Men’s Beginner, Men’s Advanced, Youth, and Women’s. For the route setting, the event invited top domestic climber Abang to design the courses.
The atmosphere at the competition was exceptionally lively, with cheers and encouragement from volunteers and spectators adding excitement and suspense throughout the event. At the peak of the finals, the open area at Garden City’s Bosheng Climbing Gym was surrounded by over a hundred onlookers, providing an excellent platform for promoting both the sport of climbing and its associated brands. In the end, Song Yiling and Chen Jun, youth team members who have repeatedly competed in national junior competitions and even participated above their age categories, claimed the Women’s and Men’s Beginner titles respectively with their outstanding performances. Huang Zuan and Zhang Yuetao from Shenzhen also won the Men’s Advanced and Youth titles.
