Since the evening of the 3rd, heavy snow has fallen across the southern mountainous areas of Jinan. This winter, some ski resorts in Jinan have specially set up gentle-sloped, wide-child-friendly ski runs, and added snow play equipment such as snow carpets and inner tubes to attract children aged 3–10 to learn skiing.
“With this snowfall as a foundation, we expect ski resorts to likely open earlier than usual this year.” Pang Hua, the person in charge of Jiudingta Snow Dance International Ski Resort, told reporters on the 5th that last year, the first snowfall in the Jinan area didn’t occur until November 28, and the “Snow Dance” ski resort opened in mid-December. This year’s first snow came more than 20 days earlier, indicating that the climate is quite suitable for snow formation, and ski resorts are expected to open earlier as well.
To this end, the scenic area quickly planned and launched an offer: free skiing for those staying overnight, attending meetings, or visiting the park in winter, making it one of the first among hundreds of ski resorts nationwide to kick off its marketing campaign. Currently, Jiudingta’s “Snow Dance” has completed all preparations regarding slope safety, environment, equipment, and ski gear, and is just waiting for temperatures to stabilize below 0°C before starting the snowmaking machines.
According to reports, in recent years, a clear trend of younger skiing consumers has emerged in the Jinan area. Some citizens view skiing as an elite sport and are starting their children early, leading to a growing customer base at ski resorts year by year.
