On the morning of November 5, reporters learned from Chongli County, Hebei Province that days of continuous snowfall have transformed Chongli into a silver-white world, adding the perfect touch to the opening of the ski season at major resorts this year. With the upcoming 12th China Chongli International Ski Festival, the ski season in Chongli is about to reach its peak.
Ski resorts in Chongli step up snowmaking and are set to open soon
It is reported that later this month, four major ski resorts in Chongli—Wanlong Ski Resort, Secret Garden of Genting Ski Resort, Great Wall Ridge, and Dolomiti—will all open to the public. Currently, inquiries and bookings at the resorts are booming, with some resorts already receiving reservations through next year’s Spring Festival.
According to statistics, the four major ski resorts in Chongli have already received around 50 centimeters of snowfall. Resorts are accelerating snowmaking efforts, with over 30 snowmaking machines and 130 snow guns operating simultaneously at Wanlong Ski Resort. Machines roar and snow flies everywhere at the resorts, as artificial snow blends with natural snowfall, creating a spectacular scene.
Currently, the slopes at Wanlong Ski Resort are ready for skiing, and some skiers have already started testing the off-piste runs. This snowfall has saved the resorts a significant amount in snowmaking costs, with each resort saving approximately 100,000 yuan. It is expected that on November 10, the major ski resorts in Chongli will open to tourists. It is reported that compared to last year, the Secret Garden of Genting Ski Resort will officially begin operations, opening 32 ski runs spanning 22 kilometers, with a total skiing area of 900,000 square meters—17 more runs than were available during last year’s trial operation.
