The 2012 “Tengtu Cup” 10th China International Mountain Outdoor Sports Open successfully concluded on October 13, 2012. This international sporting event was jointly organized by the General Administration of Sport of China, the National Radio and Television Administration, and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. The competition ran from October 10 to 13, 2012, with sponsorship materials valued at 6.5 million yuan from thirteen companies, making it the edition with the most sponsors and the highest sponsorship amount in the history of the Open. Kolumb (Columbus) Outdoor Team, as one of the domestic participating teams, delivered an outstanding performance in this highly competitive international event, once again confirming the excellent quality of Kolumb (Columbus) outdoor products, which are fully capable of protecting athletes and enhancing their performance in competitions.
Since its opening on October 10, the competition has attracted over 140 sports teams from more than 40 countries and regions across Europe, Asia, North America, Oceania, and Africa. The foreign teams came from over 10 countries such as the UK, USA, France, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Finland, Poland, South Korea, and Japan, encompassing the top 6 international outdoor sports teams and the top 5 domestic teams, including the Kolumb Outdoor Team, truly representing the highest level of international outdoor sports competitions. For the Kolumb outdoor brand, this was another perfect showcase on the international stage.
Mountain cross-country racing is a well-established and conventional major format in outdoor sports. Its events mainly include mountain cross-country running, mountain trekking races, mountain stream and lake boat crossings, mountain bike races, jungle orienteering, rock climbing, rappelling, rope sliding, loaded cross-country, and desert crossings. It is a modern emerging sport that combines elements of various Olympic disciplines, testing athletes’ comprehensive field skills, endurance, willpower, and emphasizing teamwork. As mountain cross-country racing gains increasing attention from the international sports and media communities, the demands on the required sports equipment are also growing higher.
While providing sports equipment for the Kolumb Outdoor Team, the Kolumb outdoor brand also uses the team’s daily training—featuring high-intensity, professional outdoor exercises—to test the quality of Kolumb products, thereby continuously improving their performance. By offering high-performance outdoor gear to consumers, the brand fulfills its mission of “letting everyone enjoy the joy of the outdoors.”
