Skiing is not only a vibrant and healthy sport but also a free-spirited lifestyle that showcases people’s quality of life. As more people fall in love with skiing, they begin to pay attention to personalized winter gear. Ski apparel needs to be functional — windproof, warm, and breathable — but also stylish and unique. This is a trend and the driving force behind our Ski Fashion Show.
On December 8, 2012, the “3rd Ski Fashion Show & Nanshan 11th Anniversary Celebration” will be held at the Xialai Plaza of Nanshan Ski Resort. It evolved from the annual “Opening Ceremony” of Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort and made a breakthrough transformation in the 2010–2011 ski season by introducing the concept of a ski fashion show. Focusing on “fashion culture” and “entertainment interaction,” it became China’s first snow T-stage show and has now grown into an iconic fashion event marking the start of Beijing’s ski season.
This edition of the show incorporates more fashion and interactive elements. The event has received strong support from leading outdoor brands such as ROXY, QUIKSILVER, PHENIX, and ICEPEAK, and has also attracted the participation of the well-known casual wear brand GIORDANO, reflecting how the skiing lifestyle is becoming more mainstream. The Ski Fashion Show has also added a children’s clothing runway segment, where kids model ski apparel — sure to delight the audience and signaling that more families are embracing skiing. Even more exciting is that the handsome and beautiful models strutting stylish winter wear on the runway are not all professionals; they are outdoor enthusiasts selected through the “Who’s the 2012 Nanshan Snow Supermodel?” Weibo campaign. They will walk the runway alongside professional models. When real skiing enthusiasts showcase winter fashion, it delivers a more authentic and accurate representation of the skiing lifestyle, helping everyone better understand ski fashion trends and dress stylishly on the slopes. These amateur models, selected through auditions, will strut their stuff on the T-stage with the cheers of their supporters. December 8 at Nanshan Xialai Plaza is bound to be a joyful party.
In addition to showcasing their skiing style, the 18 “aspiring supermodels” participating in the runway show will also compete fiercely for the title of “2012 Nanshan Snow Supermodel.” Based on scores from professional judges, one winner will be chosen from the 18 finalists. The winner will receive a 10-day ski pass for Nanshan, a 1000 RMB @GIORDANO voucher, and a PHENIX ski suit worth 5000 RMB. Three additional “Popularity Award” winners will receive 800 RMB @GIORDANO vouchers and PHENIX Outlast underwear. Each of the other “aspiring supermodels” will also receive a 500 RMB GIORDANO voucher and PHENIX Outlast underwear.
As the exclusive designated winter ski training venue for the Dream Ship Celebrity Sports Club — Ski Team, Nanshan Ski Resort’s events have received strong support from the Dream Ship Celebrity Team. At the first Ski Fashion Show, Dream Ship Ski Team captain Xia Yu and team members Gao Qi, Chen Juanhong, and Wu Jing improvised a runway walk. At the second Ski Fashion Show at Lan Yinsan, skiing enthusiast Chen Juanhong and Gao Qi showed their support. Who among the Dream Ship Ski Team celebrities will make a dazzling appearance at the 3rd Ski Fashion Show? Stay tuned to find out.
The 2012–2013 ski season marks Nanshan Ski Resort’s 11th year. Over these 11 years, we have upheld the management philosophy of “professionalism, fashion, and internationalization.” Through innovative and high-quality brand events and attentive service, we aim to deliver a better skiing experience and promote a healthy, individualistic skiing lifestyle.
This new ski season, Nanshan Ski Resort has opened a dedicated teaching slope for children, allowing them to learn to ski safely and happily. A 2000-square-meter beginner and intermediate jump and terrain park area has been specially designed on the gentle slope of the lower section of Nanshan Mellow Park, facilitating skill advancement for entry-level freestyle skiers and snowboarders, enabling them to pursue cool tricks and styles in a gradual and relatively safe manner. The ski rental shop continues to update its equipment. The “Snack Plaza” has been renovated and expanded, with a new “Xialai Plaza Coffee Corner” takeaway window added. The indoor and outdoor wooden terraces of the Alpine Coffee Corner have also been expanded, and a new wood-burning fireplace has been built on the south wall, with more sun loungers to be added nearby. Friends are welcome to visit Nanshan’s terraces in their leisure time, sip coffee, and watch skiers gracefully descend the slopes, enjoying the warmth of winter sunshine amidst the pure white snow and fresh air.
Nanshan Ski Resort creates a happy life. We are grateful for your attention and support and look forward to sharing a wonderful ski season with you. Don’t miss the “3rd Ski Fashion Show & Nanshan 11th Anniversary Celebration” at Nanshan Xialai Plaza on December 8, 2012 — we look forward to your presence and participation.
