The Tengen Tenjin Plum Wine Festival, centered around Japan’s traditional fruit wine “plum wine,” is held annually in grand style at Osaka’s Tenmangu Shrine when the plum blossoms are in bloom. This year, there’s no need to travel all the way to Japan. After two years of invitations by Koike Plum Wine Shop, the organizers of the Osaka Tengen Tenjin Plum Wine Festival have given their approval. In collaboration with Osaka plum wine shops, the festival is being held overseas for the first time, allowing people in Taipei to enjoy the event.● ETtoday News Cloud reminds you: Don’t drink and drive.

The 2016 Tengen Tenjin Summer Plum Wine Festival will feature nearly 100 varieties of plum wine, continuing the tradition of the Osaka Tengen Tenjin Plum Wine Festival. Visitors can purchase tasting vouchers worth either NT$500 or NT$300 on-site to sample drinks at various brewers’ booths. Naturally, there will also be food stalls offering tasty accompaniments. Not only is this the first time the Tengen Tenjin Plum Wine Festival is being held overseas, but many Japanese breweries are also enthusiastically participating, including Yagi Brewery, Maruishi Sake Brewing, Kitajima Brewery, Shōtoku Brewery, Kōka Wine, Nami-no-ne Brewery, and Kanbeni Plum Wine Brewery.
