Highlights of the 2012 Pearl River Delta Bouldering Exchange Competition Hong Kong Stop
On Sunday, January 20, the Pearl River Delta Bouldering Competition, which has already been held in multiple cities including Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, will welcome its final year-end stop at the KAILAS Bouldering Gym in Guangzhou. This will also be the first bouldering competition hosted by the KAILAS Guangzhou Bouldering Gym in the new year of 2013. At that time, climbing and bouldering experts and enthusiasts from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and other parts of the Pearl River Delta, even across South China, will gather in Guangzhou to share their climbing experiences and techniques. This includes several young climbers from Hong Kong who enjoy a strong reputation in the Asian climbing community.

As per tradition, this event will continue to adopt an open team-based bouldering competition format. Based on climbing ability, the competition is divided into two groups, A and B, running simultaneously. Group A is designed for routes with difficulty levels V5–V7, while Group B is for routes with difficulty levels V3–V4. Participants can register according to their bouldering skill level. It’s particularly worth mentioning that the route setting for this competition will be handled by Wang Qinghua, a KAILAS climbing team member and the first person in China to complete the 9A-rated “Red Dot Rice” route.
2011 Hong Kong Bouldering Experts at the Pearl River Delta Bouldering Competition Guangzhou Stop
It is reported that as a regional brand competition, the Pearl River Delta Bouldering Exchange Competition is advocated, hosted, and sponsored by KAILAS. Since its first stop in November 2011, it has been held for four consecutive stops, and its influence has been increasingly felt across Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, and the entire South China region. As the largest bouldering gym in South China, the KAILAS Guangzhou Bouldering Gym has long become the first must-visit destination for climbers from all over the country coming to Guangzhou, especially around the time of the annual Pearl River Delta Bouldering Competition. In the future, KAILAS hopes to make the Guangzhou Bouldering Gym one of the most influential bouldering gyms in the southern region and even nationwide. The 2013 competition organizing committee will continue to hold one competition per quarter in each city. It is reported that after the Guangzhou stop, other Pearl River Delta cities such as Hong Kong and Shenzhen will also host additional stops.
