The 2013 Mountain Marathon Challenge, which started on January 12, has concluded. Launched in 2012, it is regarded as the toughest race in the UK, with competitors having to traverse 108 miles (about 174 kilometers) through the North York Moors. Last year, just one participant finished the race. Now, Berghaus athlete Philippe Gatta has emerged as the latest champion. He completed the course in an incredible time of 32 hours and 18 minutes, setting a new race record by finishing 4 hours faster than the previous best.
