During the New Year holiday in 2013, skiing has become a highlight of Jinan’s winter tourism. In the suburbs of Jinan City, ski resorts were bustling with crowds and full of energy. Many families came together to get up close and personal with ice and snow, unleashing their passion and indulging in the thrill of skiing.
At major ski resorts in Jinan, including Jinxiang Mountain, visitors can fully experience the thrilling sensation of snow tubing, feel the adrenaline rush of snowmobiles, and enjoy the boundless excitement of silver snowy landscapes. Meanwhile, many ski resorts have launched special “New Year Celebration” themed activities. Jinxiang Mountain Ski Resort, the most well-known in East China, particularly highlights New Year blessing programs. Exciting events such as Spring Festival galas, ski shows, and cartoon character parades filled the resort with joy, making it a key part of Shandong Province’s “Happy New Year” celebrations.
According to staff at Jinxiang Mountain, the ski resort entered its peak period after the second day of the Lunar New Year, with visitor numbers increasing daily—a significant rise compared to the same period in previous years. While local visitors still made up the majority, there was also a notable increase in the number and proportion of tourists from other provinces, including many from Fujian, Guangdong, as well as compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao who came to enjoy the skiing fun.
The Chan family traveled specially from Hong Kong. He said emotionally, “In the beautiful spring city of Jinan, enjoying the snow, skiing, and taking part in the lively festivities at Jinxiang Mountain—this has been truly exciting. The kids even learned how to ski, and our whole family had a great time!” Surprisingly, this series of exciting events at Jinxiang Mountain will continue throughout the entire ski season.
