The Bataleon snowboard, which won the Best Innovation Award at ISPO Munich last year, is rocketing up the industry ranks. Its unique patented base design makes it one of the most distinctive snowboards on the market.

The base structure, known as triple base technology (abbreviated as TBT), is the core technology of Bataleon. As shown in the image below, the base of a Bataleon snowboard consists of three parts. The tip and tail are no longer flat but are instead slightly raised at the edges when placed on the ground—shaped somewhat like the edges of a spoon. The widest part of the tip and tail is the furthest from the snow, creating an angle of up to 3.5 degrees. This means that during flat riding, only 40% of the edges make contact with the snow, while during turns, like other snowboards, it achieves full effective edge grip on the snow.
