On XX January 2013, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the new Targhee 32 backpack from Gregory Mountain Products—a company with 35 years of leading experience in backpack manufacturing—won the backpack category award in the ski products division at the prestigious ISPO Awards. This newly designed alpine backpack expands Gregory’s backpack product line and offers new options for skiers, snowboarders, and snowshoers. Winning an ISPO award at the start of the new year also provides fresh momentum for the company’s development in the coming year.

“With our high-quality, modernly designed series of ski backpacks, we have re-entered the winter market,” said John Sears, Product Development Manager at Gregory Mountain Products. “It’s exciting to showcase our innovations through our products and win an ISPO award. This recognition proves that we truly understand the needs of alpine sports enthusiasts.”
In addition to the 32L version, the Targhee backpack series will also be available in 18L, 26L, and 45L capacities. The backpacks feature a new VertFlex suspension system that delivers a comfortable and stable carry, allowing freedom of movement for alpine skiing. They can carry sleds in an A-frame configuration, accommodating sleds up to 130mm in length. There’s also a stowable ski carry system that allows diagonal ski carry using cam locks for enhanced stability. The Targhee backpacks use reinforced Hypalon webbing and compression straps for carrying snowboards or snowshoes, ensuring safety and durability.

The Targhee series’ ice axe carry system can hold a pair of ice axes for tackling more challenging mountain terrain. The aluminum components of the carry system are anodized for stability and durability in cold, rugged outdoor conditions.
For safety, the Targhee backpacks include a dedicated avalanche safety gear pocket that can hold a shovel, probe, snow saw, or other rescue equipment, allowing quick access whenever needed.
They can carry a helmet, feature an insulated hydration sleeve, and have a full-zip back panel access to the main compartment. These features ensure a comfortable carry and easy access to gear. The new Targhee series backpacks will be available for purchase in the fall of 2013.
