Yesterday, travel agencies informed us that since Women’s Day falls on a Friday this year, it can be combined with the weekend to form a short holiday, leading to many women choosing to travel for 1–3 days. The main travel themes include spring outings and flower viewing, wellness and beauty, hot springs, mountain climbing, and fruit picking. With multiple scenic spots such as Jiangxi’s Jinggangshan, Guangdong’s Danxia Mountain, Anhui’s Huangshan, and Shanghai’s Happy Valley offering free entry or half-price tickets for female tourists around Women’s Day, these attractions are expected to see a small surge in visitors.
During this year’s Women’s Day period, many domestic scenic spots have implemented ticket discount policies for female tourists. For example, Jiangxi’s Jinggangshan Scenic Area will waive ticket fees for female visitors from March 8 to March 15 and will also launch up to eight special events; Guangdong’s Danxia Mountain, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site and Global Geopark, will offer half-price tickets for female tourists from March 8 to March 17; Anhui’s Huangshan Scenic Area will provide a 50% discount on peak-season ticket prices for female tourists from within China from March 8 to March 10; and Shanghai’s Happy Valley will offer half-price tickets for female tourists from March 8 to March 10.
