Use Ubike stations as a dice game  Taipei City will host a "Bike Monopoly" on 9/4

Turn all of Taipei City into a Monopoly game board! The travel group "I Am Traveling," beloved by many university students, will hold an urban mini-trip "Bike Monopoly" in Taipei on September 4. The event will use a lottery to determine travel companions and a dice roll system to have groups ride Ubikes together to complete assigned travel missions.

Bike Monopoly uses a three-by-three grid of bike lanes as the game board, with historical and innovation hubs around Ubike stations serving as mission points. It features seven designated mission spots and over 20 city discovery tasks, turning Taipei’s convenient Ubikes into both a medium and a way to travel.

Organizer Huang Shih-hua pointed out that, for example, at one location — the 228 Peace Memorial Park — after arriving by Ubike, team members must work together to find all the "bronze horses, bronze oxen, and stone lions" in the park. Each teammate searches in their own way, and upon completing the task, they’ll find that the most fun part isn’t finding the targets, but the search process itself.

In addition to object-finding tasks, there are also missions like "hugging three strangers" and "learning three different languages from foreigners." University students who participated in the trial run back in August also noted that after hugging strangers during the activity, they wanted to continue spreading warmth in their daily lives.

During "Bike Monopoly," participants will visit places such as the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and the Taipei Zoo in various ways. Huang Shih-hua said that, unlike typical rushed group tours, this allows exploration of the city from different perspectives — even places you thought you already knew well.
