The annual event of the ramen world, the “Tokyo Ramen Show,” is about to begin. The 2016 Tokyo Ramen Show is scheduled to kick off on October 27. The first session runs from October 27 to November 1, and the second session is from November 2 to November 6. The venue is in Komazawa, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo. It’s an extremely popular event. Each bowl of ramen is priced at just 850 yen, but you need to purchase ramen tickets in advance.

This year, a total of 36 ramen shops will participate in the Tokyo Ramen Show across both sessions. Among them, Ippudo Iroha from Toyama has won the championship five times at the Tokyo Ramen Show (four consecutive wins from 2009 to 2012 and the championship in 2014). Their “Toyama Black (Toyama Burakku)” black soy sauce ramen has captivated countless ramen enthusiasts. Popular ramen shops with branches in Taiwan, such as Asahikawa Bai-kohken and Fukuoka Ichiran, are also participating and are highly anticipated.
