Ranked on all U.S. “100 Best Workplaces” lists

    W. L. Gore & Associates, globally renowned for its innovative products and unique culture, once again made Fortune magazine’s annual list of America’s “100 Best Workplaces” in 2013, ranking 21st. This marks the company’s 16th consecutive appearance on the list, making it one of the few companies to have been included every year since the list’s inception.
Gore is headquartered in Newark, Delaware, and employs more than 10,000 associates worldwide. It has manufacturing facilities in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, and China, with a global sales network.
This year marks Gore’s 55th anniversary. The company’s history began on January 1, 1958, when Bill and Vieve Gore founded a small business in the basement of their home to celebrate the New Year and their 23rd wedding anniversary. Today, Gore is globally recognized for its distinctive corporate culture and industry-leading products, such as the waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® products. Gore operates on a team-based structure, free from traditional corporate hierarchies and chains of command.
“Gore’s continued presence on the Best Workplaces list reflects the critical role our culture plays—not only in enhancing associate satisfaction but also in driving business performance,” said Terri Kelly, CEO of W. L. Gore & Associates. “Our culture is our greatest competitive advantage, creating a work environment where associates can thrive and serving as the wellspring of our broad-based innovation. This enables us to develop high-value products such as life-saving cardiovascular medical devices, high-performance textiles, aerospace electronics, and industrial components.”
