Recently, the launch ceremony of the 2013 Changbai Mountain Spring Skiing Festival, themed “Spring Has Come to Changbai Mountain — Warmth with the Snow,” a carnival of snow revelry, was held at the Changbai Mountain Natural Ski Park.
After the launch ceremony, hundreds of tourists from across the country participated in activities such as skiing, all-terrain vehicles, snow tubing, and snowmobiles. During the skiing festival, events including the inauguration ceremony of the Changbai Mountain International Kite Skiing Base, kite skiing speed competitions (for both snowboard and alpine skiing), kite skiing freestyle performance competitions, and alpine off-trail skiing chase performances will also take place.
The Changbai Mountain Natural Ski Park is the largest open natural ski resort in Asia and the only one of its kind in China. As spring arrives, snow resources at most domestic ski resorts have nearly run out, but the Changbai Mountain Natural Ski Park remains blanketed in snow — making it the perfect time for skiing.
