I. Event Introduction
Leveraging its proximity to the city and suburban advantages, Xuzhou’s Jiawang District has successfully developed leisure tourism routes such as Dagudong Mountain and Pan’an Lake. It has also established a large-scale agritainment industry cluster in Mazhuang and created a wetland scenic belt at Dugong Lake Scenic Area. Especially in spring, when thousands of acres of peach blossoms bloom at Dugong Lake and Dagudong Mountain, the area attracts visitors from far and wide.
Following the great success of the 2012 Dugong Lake Mountain Bike Invitation Tournament, which was widely acclaimed by participants and citizens alike, the 2013 tournament aims to further enhance the leisure tourism quality and influence of Jiawang District during the peak peach blossom season. The event continues to build the Dugong Lake Cycling Tournament as a signature sports brand.
The 2013 Xuzhou Jiawang Second Dugong Lake National Cycling Invitation Tournament & Northern Jiangsu Camping Gathering consists of multiple exciting events and competitions over two main days, each featuring several highlights. Key activities include: opening ceremony, national cycling invitation tournament, Peach Blossom Fairy selection, tug-of-war among flowers, classical music performance in Peach Blossom Cove, and “Under the Moonlight” camping bonfire party. Follow-up online activities include the Peach Blossom Fairy selection and an essay & photography contest. Through these events and extensive media coverage, the leisure tourism resources of Jiawang District will be rapidly promoted across the Jiangsu-Shandong-Anhui region, further solidifying its reputation as China’s “Leisure Town.”
Another leisure extravaganza by China Outdoor Network — the 2013 Xuzhou Jiawang Second Dugong Lake National Cycling Invitation Tournament & Northern Jiangsu Camping Gathering — is about to kick off. Bicycle clubs, cycling enthusiasts, and leisure self-drive tourists are warmly welcome to join us!
