In order to promote ecological civilization and allow people across the country to experience the beautiful ecological landscape of Baiyun Mountain, the 9th Funiu Mountain Hiking Festival – "Baiyun Mountain Cup" 2013 is scheduled to be held at the central square of Luoyang Baiyun Mountain on April 20, 2013. The announcement is as follows:

Hiking Race Route and Schedule
Race Route: From the Baiyun Mountain Central Square to Yuhuangding (Jade Emperor Summit), approximately 5 kilometers
Hiking Race Schedule:
9:30 – 9:35: Hiking participants assemble and prepare
9:35 – 10:35: The chief judge of the event’s judging panel fires the starting gun to officially begin the hiking race
10:35 – 10:50: Time for confirming award-winning positions for the hiking race winners
10:50 – 2:00 PM: Free time for participants

This event is organized by the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area Event Organizing Committee Office (Baiyun Mountain Marketing Department).
V. Activity Guidelines
Registration: All Chinese citizens aged 18–55 who are in good health, as well as domestic travel agencies, social groups, and individual travelers, may register to participate in the hiking race. The registration limit is 1,000 participants, registered in order of application. Participants must send or fax their registration forms to the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area Event Organizing Committee Office (Baiyun Mountain Marketing Department) by 6:00 PM on April 18, along with personal basic information, contact number, a copy of ID, and a copy of a health certificate from a medical institution at or above the county level.

Check-in: Participating athletes must check in and confirm their registration at the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area Event Organizing Committee Office by 6:00 PM on April 19. During check-in, they must present their original ID and health certificate, fill out the registration form, submit one recent 1-inch bareheaded photo, and purchase personal accident insurance (insurance fee: 2 RMB).
Eligibility for Hiking: Confirmed participating groups and individuals must arrive at the organizing committee activity area at the Baiyun Mountain Central Square before
8:00 AM on April 20, 2013, to collect their hiking number tags and attend the opening ceremony on-site in order to qualify for the competition.
Competition Rules: The race is divided into one group for men and one for women; all participants start at the same time from the starting point, with results recorded separately for men and women at the finish line; participants must collect and wear a mountain climbing bib before the race to be fully qualified to compete; the competition is conducted based on the principles of fairness, competition, and merit; the duration of the mountain climbing race is 60 minutes. Participants exceeding 60 minutes will not have their results recorded, will not be ranked, and will not receive awards; the top 16 male and female participants in each group will be awarded prizes; all participating athletes are responsible for their own transportation, meals, accommodation, and personal safety; participants who have made dining or accommodation reservations should contact the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area hotel directly to arrange their stay.
Prize Settings: The top 16 male and female participants in each group will receive certificates and cash prizes. Among them, the first prize winner in each group (1 person) will receive a cash prize of 2,000 yuan; the second prize winners in each group (2 people) will each receive 1,000 yuan; the third prize winners in each group (3 people) will each receive 500 yuan; and the encouragement prize winners in each group (10 people) will each receive 200 yuan.
VI. Discount Measures (on April 20):
Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area admission fee of 80 yuan per person: Individuals confirmed by the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area Event Organizing Committee Office will be granted free admission upon presentation of the confirmation document; other visitors to the scenic area will enjoy a 50% discount on the admission fee.
Scenic area shuttle vehicle fee: 70 yuan per person.
