As the China Music Valley · 2013 Beijing Midi Festival is about to open, featuring five stages, a three-day run, and nearly a hundred Chinese and international bands, it will mark the beginning of the first leg of the nationwide “20 Years of Midi School” tour. Beyond the thrilling shows on the Vans-Tang, Tiger-Song, and Qing stages, there are more exciting highlights to preview in advance.
The media exhibition area also offers a variety of interactive experiences related to public welfare, environmental protection, and music sharing. Twenty years ago, the “Whampoa Military Academy of Chinese Rock” – Beijing Midi School of Music – was established. Since then, Chinese rock has flourished, producing countless talents and ushering in a new chapter of hope. The Midi Festival, planned and hosted by the school, has long become a mecca for countless rock youth. Twenty years later, the Midi heroes who once walked out of this campus return to their alma mater’s rock celebration, carrying the passion of rock ‘n’ roll. Accompanied by thousands of fans, they will witness another legendary chapter in Chinese rock history and recreate the spectacular scene of tens of thousands celebrating together on the great grassland.
