Competition Categories and Award Settings
1. Competition Categories
In 2013, the event featured 5 regional divisions, each offering 4 participant categories:
(1) Men’s/Women’s Speed Category: A mountain climbing category focused on speed, with a certain level of athletic intensity. Primarily aimed at professional athletes and enthusiasts of mountaineering and trail running. Performance is based on finishing time, and all finishers receive regional points and winning rewards.
(2) Family Pair Category: A mass-participation mountain climbing category for families, with a short distance and low intensity. Consists of one adult aged 18–60 years old + one youth aged 12 or older but under 18, forming a family unit to compete. The finishing time is based on the longer of the two participants’ times, and all finishers receive winning rewards.
(3) Fitness Category: Focused mainly on participation rather than competition. Individuals compete without recorded timing, and all who complete the course within the designated time receive a finisher certificate and souvenir.
2. Competition Awards
(1) The points earned by speed category participants across the 5 regional divisions are totaled. The top 8 male and female athletes each receive medals, award certificates, and prizes. The top 5 also receive prize money, and the top 3 receive trophies. (See the competition point table for point details.)
(2) Each regional division has separate awards for the men’s and women’s speed categories. The top 30 male and female athletes in each regional division receive medals, award certificates, prizes, and corresponding points. The top 10 in each regional division also receive prize money.
(3) Each regional division includes awards for the family pair category, with the top 30 pairs receiving medals, award certificates, and prizes.
(4) In the fitness category of each regional division, all participants who complete the course within the designated time receive a finisher certificate and souvenir.
(5) Each regional division awards the Sportsmanship Award, Best Effort Award, Fashion Fitness Award, and Best Team Award, which are determined by a vote of the judging panel.
(6) The specific rewards for each award are subject to the reward list published by the organizing committee on the official event webpage (Sina.com).

The Magical QR Code
To better organize and deliver services for the event, the organizing committee has implemented a QR code-based race management system since 2013. In addition to traditional methods, participants can also use a QR code to take part in the race. Here’s how it works:
1. Participants who register online will receive an encrypted QR code that uniquely identifies them after registering on the website. This QR code serves as a permanent identity marker for the participant in the “China Fitness Mountains Series Races” and can be used annually;
2. The QR code obtained through online registration will be sent to participants via SMS and email. Participants can also log in to the registration website at any time to retrieve their QR code;
3. Participants who register through non-internet channels will receive a printed QR code badge upon arrival at the competition venue for check-in;
4. On the day of race check-in, participants can use their mobile phone or printed QR code for quick check-in, including identity confirmation, bib collection, and race apparel pickup;
5. During the race, participants can scan their QR code (mobile/printed/organizer-issued badge) at checkpoints along the route and at the finish line to record their results. They can also obtain a finisher’s certificate with their name and results printed on it at the event service center, and view their results on the official event website via the QR code;
6. Participants can continue to use this QR code to quickly register for future “China Fitness Mountains Series Races.”
Risks and Emergency Medical Services
1. Risk Advisory
Mountain climbing is a sport with certain inherent risks. The level of risk depends on factors such as the duration of the race, difficulty (total elevation gain relative to total distance), weather, trail conditions, and the individual health level of participants. Long-distance races have higher physical demands, and it is recommended that participants be in good health and have prior experience in activities such as mountain climbing and running.
The organizing committee prohibits individuals with the following medical conditions from participating. Participants bear full responsibility for any consequences resulting from non-compliance:
A. Heart disease patients (e.g., congenital heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, myocarditis, etc.);
B. Patients with hypertension and cardiovascular diseases;
C. Patients with coronary heart disease and severe arrhythmia;
D. Patients with diabetes or hypoglycemia;
E. Other patients with diseases unsuitable for physical activity.
2. Emergency Medical Assistance Services
The event organizing committee will set up emergency medical service stations and ambulances along the race route.
3. Service Personnel
The event organizing committee will arrange volunteers at the start and finish points, each aid station, emergency medical service stations, and other locations to assist with medical care and maintain race order. Participants may seek help at any time.
4. Insurance
The event organizing committee provides group accident insurance for all participants and staff.
