[Policy Background]
Tourism is a strategic industry with low resource consumption, high driving coefficient, abundant job opportunities, and comprehensive benefits. To vigorously develop China’s tourism industry, relevant national departments have successively introduced related policies, and Beijing has also adopted a series of corresponding measures to promote the development of tourism.
— In 2009, the State Council issued the "Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Tourism Industry," elevating tourism development to a national strategy and explicitly proposing to cultivate the tourism industry into a strategic pillar of the national economy and a modern service sector that satisfies the people more effectively.
illness In 2011, the "Beijing Municipal Bureau of Tourism" was renamed the "Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development." It was adjusted from being a directly affiliated institution under the municipal government to a constituent department of the municipal government. Going forward, it will coordinate with all tourism-related departments and entities in the capital, promoting tourism as a pillar industry in Beijing through industrial development approaches.
illness In 2012, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress reviewed the "Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China (Draft)" and solicited public opinions. The long-awaited introduction of the "Tourism Law" entered the final countdown stage.
illness In 2013, the General Office of the State Council officially released the "National Tourism and Leisure Outline (2013–2020)," bringing new opportunities to promote and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the tourism industry, optimize the structure of tourism products, improve the tourism public service system, and foster new tourism consumption hotspots.
illness Starting January 1, 2013, Beijing officially implemented a new 72-hour visa-free transit policy, injecting significant momentum into inbound tourism in the city.
[Geographical Advantage]
As the national political and cultural center, Beijing wields great influence and extensive reach, with a solid consumer base. It hosts central ministries and commissions, United Nations agencies, foreign embassies in China, foreign business institutions, large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises, and headquarters of multinational corporations. With a permanent population exceeding 20 million, the city boasts abundant resources in tourism product manufacturers and buyers, making it uniquely well-positioned to host tourism product expos.
[Exhibition Hall Introduction]
The National Agricultural Exhibition Center, one of the ten major buildings in the capital, was established in 1959. Its location, scale, layout, and architectural style were personally approved by Premier Zhou Enlai. For over 50 years since its establishment, it has hosted countless large-scale exhibitions, gaining nationwide fame and international attention, and is recognized as one of the "Top Ten Brand Exhibition Centers in China."
Located on Beijing’s East Third Ring Road, the venue enjoys a prime geographical location and is often referred to as the “Dragon Eye” treasure site of the capital—boasting excellent feng shui and a vibrant atmosphere. Situated in Beijing’s bustling international business district, the area within a 2-kilometer radius includes over 200 star-rated hotels, famous shopping malls, office buildings, and fitness centers. It lies in one of Beijing’s fastest-growing economic zones, offering highly convenient accommodation and dining options.
Covering an area of 52 hectares, the exhibition center features traditional Chinese architectural style. The grounds are shaded by trees, blooming with flowers, and dotted with shimmering lakes, complemented by classical structures such as corridors, pavilions, green-tiled yellow-eaved buildings, creating a highly picturesque environment. It is the only large-scale exhibition hall in Beijing with a traditional Chinese garden style. The venue is fully equipped with reception rooms, meeting rooms, business centers, multi-function halls, hotels, customs-supervised warehouses, and other facilities of various grades, making it an ideal site for hosting large international exhibitions.
