According to the UK's Daily Mail on August 12, 28-year-old British Prince Harry was recently spotted training in sub-zero conditions alongside 43-year-old TV actor Dominic West, taking part in hiking and mountaineering exercises on Iceland’s second-largest glacier. The training is in preparation for a charitable mountaineering trip to Antarctica this winter.
It is reported that Prince Harry will travel to the Antarctic region in December this year to lead a team of four injured servicemen on a 208-mile charity trek in temperatures as low as minus 45°C. Harry underwent grueling training on Iceland’s second-largest glacier, hauling heavy sledges loaded with supplies and trekking nearly 10 hours a day across glaciers stretching 33 kilometers.
Prince Harry will join the British Antarctic team “Grenadier Guards,” composed of injured servicemen, while actor Dominic will lead the “Walking With The Wounded” team made up of Commonwealth military personnel. A third team will consist of American servicemen. The three teams will undertake this fundraising challenge for charity and compete against each other during the trek.
Prince Harry has been busy with charity work recently, currently visiting mine clearance sites in Angola on behalf of the Halo Trust, a charitable organization once supported by Princess Diana.
