Yesterday afternoon, more than 30 spirited cyclists appeared on the streets. They passed through the Ancient Culture Street and the Drum Tower, finally arriving at the Century Clock in front of Tianjin Railway Station, promoting the concept of green travel along the way. The leader was 27-year-old Tianjin native Wang Zhibo, who spent three months cycling through more than ten coastal provinces and cities, covering a distance of over 10,000 kilometers, and finally returned to his hometown. Along the way, he made a group of like-minded friends, and the group plans to cycle together in Oceania this November.

On May 16 of this year, our newspaper published an article titled "Cycling 40,000 Kilometers in Pursuit of Youthful Dreams," reporting on Wang Zhibo’s departure. Three months later, the young man is now tanned and leaner, but his eyes remain as determined as ever. “As long as you work hard and persevere, nothing can defeat you.” He cycled over 100 kilometers every day, sometimes pushing to 200 kilometers when on the move, reaching as far as Guangxi. In addition to coastal provinces and cities, he also cycled through Sichuan, Anhui, Chongqing and other regions, leaving deep memories in each city. “There were touching moments, tough times, and many gains – my perspective has broadened so much.” What moved him the most was being treated to countless free meals during the trip. He said, “While eating, I often met kind-hearted people who, upon learning I had cycled all the way from Tianjin, eagerly chatted with me about the local culture and scenery. When I went to pay the bill, I found they had already quietly covered it for me.” There were also plenty of hardships along the way. “Yesterday, when passing through Cangzhou, a teammate ahead of me fell, and I couldn’t dodge in time and also went down. That teammate suffered a minor arm fracture, and I got cuts on my chin and leg – but we still pushed through and finished the journey.”

During the cycling journey, Wang Zhibo met more than 30 like-minded cycling enthusiasts from all over the country. Together, they supported and cycled through the entire route. And this coastal provinces cycling trip is just a warm-up – in November, they will fly to New Zealand, then travel through Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, before finally cycling back to Tianjin.
