"Challenge Mount Wugong, Ride Without Limits" ! At 9:30 AM on September 22, in Wanlongshan Township of Pingxiang's Wugong Mountain Scenic Area, within the premises of the Wugong Mountain West Sea Hot Spring Resort, the inaugural Jiangxi Cross-Strait Cycling Friendship Tournament and the 6th Pan-Chang-Zhu-Min International Cycling Challenge on Mount Wugong grandly opened. Nearly 500 contestants, cycling enthusiasts, journalists, representatives from sponsoring companies, and members of the public from both home and abroad—totaling nearly 4,000 people—attended the opening ceremony. Sun Gang, member of the Party Group and Advisor to the Jiangxi Provincial Government, and Liu Lizu, Vice Chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, were present at the opening. Officials from the Pingxiang Municipal Government and the Wugong Mountain Management Committee delivered speeches.

It is reported that the Jiangxi Cross-Strait Cycling Friendship Tournament is being held for the first time, while the Pan-Chang-Zhu-Min International Cycling Race has been successfully organized for five editions. This marks the first collaboration with the Wugong Mountain Scenic Area in Pingxiang. In recent years, the Wugong Mountain Scenic Area has fully launched its battle to achieve 5A-level status, opening up a new landscape for tourism development. With an investment of over 1 billion yuan, two new roads, two new cableways, and one new tourist route have been completed. The construction of the "Five Service Areas" has been comprehensively advanced, and projects such as the Demonstration Belt of Harmonious and Beautiful Rural Areas, the Cycling Leisure Greenway, and the Cycling Theme Park are under accelerated development. The scenic area’s basic infrastructure is now largely complete, overall functionality has significantly improved, and all essential elements for 5A certification are in place. With the continuous improvement of these facilities, these two events will be permanently hosted at the Wugong Mountain Scenic Area in the future, capable of supporting three different forms of cycling: road cycling, mountain biking, and leisure cycling.

It is understood that the Wugong Mountain Scenic Area will also host the final stage of the 4th Tour of Poyang Lake International Cycling Race at the end of November. The Wugong Mountain Scenic Area is committed to developing Wanlongshan into a national cycling-themed park, aiming to make cycling another outdoor sports brand following the Wugong Mountain International Tent Festival, and to truly establish Wugong Mountain as a paradise for outdoor activities.

The theme of these two events—"Challenge Mount Wugong, Ride Without Limits"—aims to closely integrate this new form of leisure cycling with tourism. It allows cycling enthusiasts to not only enjoy the scenic area’s beautiful environment and fresh air but also to fully experience the boundless joy of riding amidst nature. Furthermore, challenging oneself and releasing passion atop Jiangxi’s highest peak, the grasslands above the clouds, leaves a truly unforgettable impression.
Therefore, this competition is divided into a mountain bike challenge on the Wanlongshan track and a Golden Summit Challenge held atop Wugong Mountain. The mountain bike challenge includes men’s regular mountain bike, men’s open mountain bike, women’s mountain bike, and a beginner’s mountain bike group. The men’s course is 32.7 kilometers long, and the women’s is 18.4 kilometers, both set along winding, lush rural roads. The top 20 male riders from the men’s open and regular groups—40 riders in total—will gather at Baihe Peak on the Golden Summit to compete in the Wugong Mountain Golden Summit Challenge. Riders will speed along an 800-meter alpine track at an elevation of 1,918 meters on Jiangxi’s highest peak, racing joyfully through the vast grasslands of Wugong Mountain in the golden autumn.
