As the cool autumn breeze sets in, it’s sure to stir up your urge to travel and soak in hot springs. And you definitely shouldn’t miss the seasonal delicacy—autumn crabs. Why not head to Beitou and plan a short autumn trip that satisfies both your appetite and your craving for hot springs?
Nestled in Beitou, Gaia Hotel is surrounded by mountain forests and features white sulfur springs. Its open-air hot bath even creates a romantic snowy ambiance, making it an urban hot spring resort. From now until the end of October, the hotel’s Sichuan–Hunan cuisine restaurant “Qiyan No. 1,” its Chinese restaurant, will offer two exclusive crab dishes by Chef Li Zhaoming, each priced at NT$1,680 + 10%. There’s the “Sour Soup Big Crab,” which retains the flavors of Sichuan–Hunan cuisine, and the comforting “Spicy Big Crab,” paired with vermicelli that soaks up the essence of the crab. In addition, there’s also the “Fisherman’s Style Millionaire Crab” (NT$480 + 10%) available for tasting.
Another restaurant, “Crescent Moon,” uses Japanese cast iron pots by master designer Sori Yanagi to cook fresh seasonal ingredients. During the autumn crab season, it offers a “Japanese Miso Crab Hot Pot” set meal (NT$2,500 + 10%). By joining Gaia Hotel’s LINE community, you can enjoy the second set at half price (service charge of 10% applies). Special promotions combining hot spring soaks with meals are also now available.
