According to U.S. media reports, to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, a man in Ohio transformed 17 acres of golden cornfield into an image of the couple on their wedding day, a golden anniversary idea that is simply breathtaking.
Paul Deatherage, 72, and his wife Marie, 75, are from Mantua, Ohio. Over the past seven years, they have created various patterns in the cornfields of their 181-acre farm to pay tribute to sports teams and commemorate special occasions.
But this year, Marie had no idea she was the main subject. Speaking about her husband’s carefully planned surprise, Marie said: “He did this with the kids and kept it a secret from me.” It wasn’t until the end of June that she noticed something was up. “At first I thought they’d gone crazy, but the final result was amazing.”
The cornfield wedding photo covers 17 acres, but they completed it in just one day, creating three different images, the longest stretching 4.4 miles, featuring the faces of the Deatherage couple and their church.
Marie admitted that this was her favorite of all their cornfield creations.
