The EZON Smart Sports Watch won the Silver Award for Product Design at the 2013 Strait Industrial Design Competition

    On October 28, 2013, the award ceremony of the 2013 Strait Industrial Design Awards, themed "Design Makes Life Better," was held in Xiamen. This marked the first time that industrial design competitions were jointly organized across the Taiwan Strait. Thus, this half-year-long industrial design extravaganza came to a close. The EZON Smart Sports Watch S Series won the Silver Award for Product Design at this competition.

The 2013 Strait Industrial Design Awards were co-hosted by the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government, the Fujian Provincial Department of Economic and Trade, and the Taiwan Creative Design Center, and organized by the Xiamen Bureau of Economic Development. The competition aimed to foster a strong atmosphere for the development of industrial design through the selection of outstanding industrial design works, as well as interaction and alignment between design and manufacturing. It sought to encourage enterprises to innovate independently, enrich product variety, enhance product added value, build independent brands, improve product quality, and elevate the quality of life for the public.

    A total of nearly a thousand product entries from both sides of the Strait were submitted for this competition. Among them, 263 products that made it to the final round were evaluated and defended on-site by experts, ultimately leading to the selection of 16 Product Design Awards and 9 Concept Design Awards. With user experience as its core competitiveness, sports as its DNA, and driven by a belief in vigor, innovation, and attention to detail, EZON stood out among numerous finalists and won the Silver Award for Product Design.

    The EZON Smart Sports Watch integrates wearable sensors, low-power wireless communication, mobile services, cloud computing, data mining, and intelligent analysis—technologies under the Internet of Things—to create a new type of outdoor sports service platform. It provides smart and enjoyable sports services for sports enthusiasts to help them improve their health through exercise. Through the design of core business processes targeting watch users and user groups, the platform offers services such as motion sensing, sports data collection and synchronization, personal fitness mobile services, and fitness community services. The motion sensing service detects parameters such as step count and movement trajectory. The sports data are collected via the smart sports watch and synchronized to a smartphone or backend cloud computing center. The personal fitness mobile service provides mobile functions such as workout plan management, visualization and analysis, and personal fitness profile management through a mobile app. The fitness community service mainly offers features such as fitness base management, sharing and publishing of sports data, and sports data statistics.
