Igniting the Gregory Root-Seeking Journey
On February 20, the Gregory Urban Backpack Tasting Event was successfully held at the ISPO Beijing exhibition. Gregory founder Wayne and CORA President Zeng Weigang attended the event and announced the launch of the 2014 Root-Seeking Journey to find Chinese contracted designers.
The event was hosted by Yang Yong, Operations Director of CORA, who first showcased works submitted by netizens collected during the 2013 Gregory Outdoor Root-Seeking Journey. He then invited representatives of this year’s “Root-Seeking Journey” judging panel—Mr. Cai Yingyuan, Editor-in-Chief of Sina Outdoor, and Mr. Wang Xin, Leader of the Mountain Rescue Team—to comment on the submissions. Both guests expressed their delight at seeing more Chinese elements integrated into international branded backpacks and hoped for greater participation from netizens. Among them, Zhang Jianzhong, a netizen from Tangshan, received high praise for his paper-cutting series design and was invited to the event as a representative award-winning participant to exchange gifts with Wayne.
