The "Chiayi Eye" at Renyi Reservoir becomes a new landmark — the water droplet art installation looks even more stunning at night!

Chiayi has gained another scenic landmark with the recent completion and launch of the “Chiayi Eye,” a public art installation costing NT$13 million at Renyi Reservoir. The project involved renovating the original monument structure and integrating the concept of a water dancer into its design. Nearby, wave-shaped seating has been added, which, when illuminated at night, showcases a completely renewed look for Renyi Reservoir.

Renyi Reservoir recently completed the “Chiayi Eye” scenic landmark project. In addition to incorporating water dancer elements into the original monument and giving it a fresh update, public facilities were also improved. New wave-shaped seating and a traditional hand-operated water pump were installed, while the pavement and landscaping were redesigned. Furthermore, a 5-meter-tall stainless steel water droplet-shaped art installation was set up at the intersection entrance, attracting many visitors to take photos and check in due to its unique design.

Regarding issues raised shortly after the completion — such as public restroom doors being unable to lock and uneven flooring — the Fifth Regional Water Resources Office stated that these have been resolved by the contractor and the facilities are now fully functional. A follow-up overall project inspection will be conducted, and the public can use them with confidence.
