Food is the deepest nostalgia in a person’s heart. As one grows up, there are always certain flavors that can only remain in memories. No matter how many places you’ve been or how many delicacies you’ve tasted, the ones you miss the most are the dishes from your hometown. Because time has imprinted those flavors onto our taste buds.
On March 19, 2014, the “Shaanxi Flavor Memories” – Shaanxi Cuisine Tasting Event, hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Bureau, officially kicked off. The event will run until June 19, 2014. It is now recruiting 100 food enthusiasts from around the world to form a “foodie group.” The selected participants will enjoy a free culinary journey in Shaanxi, tasting the “Xi-Lian Combo” while spreading joy.

Shaanxi is the cradle of the Chinese nation’s growth and one of the birthplaces of Chinese culinary culture. Having developed over more than a thousand years, Shaanxi cuisine boasts a rich variety and diverse flavors. According to preliminary statistics from the provincial commerce department, Shaanxi alone currently has over 700 types of snacks, forming an important part of Shaanxi cuisine. As the “Shaanxi Flavor Memories” – Shaanxi Cuisine Tasting and Exploration Journey unfolds, the generations-old dining culture of the Qin people gradually comes to life on the grand and vibrant map of Shaanxi cuisine.
