The Outdoor Environmental Protection Day is an initiative proposed in response to the booming outdoor sports and activities in China, where environmental awareness among participants still needs continuous improvement. As is well known, with the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, their pursuit of a healthy lifestyle has become increasingly strong. Across the country, more and more people who love nature, head out into nature, embrace nature, and are enthusiastic about outdoor activities—known as “outdoor enthusiasts”—are growing in number, and outdoor organizations are flourishing. However, due to insufficient environmental protection awareness among some groups or individuals participating in outdoor activities, the phenomenon of littering remains widespread. Although some outdoor public welfare and environmental protection groups often organize clean-ups on their own, the results have not been ideal. In some popular outdoor destinations, garbage continues to accumulate or quickly piles up again after being cleaned. Government departments often find themselves unable to effectively organize manpower to clean up areas frequented by these outdoor enthusiasts. In light of this situation, the “Outdoor Environmental Protection Day” was born.
This is an environmental protection event initiated by civil society groups. This event is jointly initiated by environmental advocates, the Public Welfare Group of Outdoor Circle Network, local outdoor clubs, and several other civil society teams.
Multi-province cross-regional simultaneous action. The event spans the following regions: Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Fujian, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Henan, Heilongjiang; Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing; Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia—21 provinces acting together across regions.
The main routes arranged for this event feature distinctive large-scale outdoor characteristics. They mainly include leisure routes such as urban environmental protection, green park environmental protection, forest environmental protection, and ecological environmental protection. As many volunteers have said: “Environmental protection is for everyone, and environmental protection depends on everyone.” Let us take May 27, 2014, as a brand-new starting point. Regardless of region, group type, group size, age, or status, let’s join hands and jointly sound the clarion call of “I Love the Outdoors, I Care for the Environment.” Let’s throw ourselves into the “Outdoor Environmental Protection Day” activities shoulder to shoulder. Let’s make the “Outdoor Environmental Protection Day” a magnificent environmental calling card for China. We look forward to more provinces, more teams, and more friends joining this extraordinary large-scale environmental public welfare event, so that we can create a new realm of public welfare and environmental protection activities together.
To this end, the Organizing Committee of this “Outdoor Environmental Protection Day” specially proposes: to designate the last Sunday of May each year as “Outdoor Environmental Protection Day,” to awaken everyone’s green environmental awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Registration Requirements:
1. All participating clubs must provide one flag of the Outdoor Circle Public Welfare Group
2. All participating clubs must provide Outdoor Circle eco-bags
3. All participating clubs must provide one Outdoor Circle Environmental Protection Day banner
4. All club members participating will receive one bottle of beverage
5. All participating clubs will be recommended for display in the 2014 Environmental Star Clubs module on the homepage of Outdoor Circle Network

1. Become a sponsor of this event

3. Display the sponsor’s name on the event promotional registration post
4. Free one-year advertising display in the sponsor module on the homepage of Outdoor Circle Network (Outdoor Circle Network has 31 provincial sites, all sponsors will be displayed on the homepage of each provincial site)

As this event spans multiple provinces, sponsorship is organized by province.
Each province requires a sponsorship fund of 2,000 yuan and 50 bottles of beverages or 50 sets of equipment/gifts. National sponsorship to be discussed separately.
