In the travelogue "Riding Around Hong Kong Island," Daguo mentioned that Hong Kong is not a very bike-friendly place—its laws are quite strict, as bicycles are only allowed on motor vehicle lanes, which is obviously dangerous. Add to that the unfamiliar surroundings, which brought many inconveniences. In recent years, many Hong Kong cyclists have been heading toward the mainland. Daguo wrote at the end of the article: "HK drives on the left, but it didn’t take long to get used to riding that way, though I almost ended up on the right twice during the ride. By the end of the day, too much time was spent lingering at earlier spots, leaving too little time for the second half of the route, so I couldn’t spend much time at some locations. Also, as it got darker, the coastal scenery gradually became invisible, which was a bit of a pity. Still, it was a fulfilling day overall. Perhaps I’ll never have the chance or enthusiasm to ride around Hong Kong Island again." This shows that riding around Hong Kong Island was an extraordinary experience in Daguo’s life, and the achievements from this cycling trip were hard-won.
