The ISPO Academy – Retailers Training Program made its successful debut in Shanghai last June. A total of 248 participants, including retailers, distributors, and brand representatives from the outdoor, cycling, skiing, and extreme sports industries, gathered together. Seven domestic and international retail experts delivered lectures on seven key topics, sharing their expertise in retail store management.

With new challenges emerging such as macroeconomic slowdown, cooling traditional retail markets, and shifting consumer habits, the industry’s demand for learning about retail management continues to grow. To help industry peers tackle retail challenges and build more efficient stores together, the second ISPO Academy – Retailers Training Program will return to Shanghai on June 18–19, 2014. Themed “The Store of Tomorrow,” it will focus on the next big retail trend—management strategies for cross-category specialty sports stores.

Course Schedule:
June 18, Wednesday
1. Retail Cash Flow Management
2. Visual Merchandising – The Silent Secret to Boosting Store Sales
3. Building a Successful Cross-Category Specialty Sports Store
4. Panel Discussion: How to Build “The Store of Tomorrow”?

June 19, Thursday
1. Customer Loyalty Programs and Membership Management
2. Consumption Attitudes of China’s Younger Generation
3. Omnichannel Strategies in the New Retail Landscape
4. Panel Discussion: How to Achieve Win-Win Between Physical Stores and E-Commerce Platforms

The ISPO Academy will continue to assemble an all-star team of expert instructors, inviting top retail masters, marketing trainers, seasoned industry professionals, and management experts from well-known European and American specialty sports stores. They will share their extensive retail experience and insights on building successful stores. In terms of course content, in addition to continuing the most popular topics from the previous session—“Customer Loyalty Programs and Membership Management” and “How Physical Stores Can Thrive in a Multichannel Retail Environment”—this edition will introduce new topics such as retail cash flow management, visual merchandising—the silent secret to boosting store sales, consumption attitudes of China’s younger generation, and the development of cross-category specialty sports stores. These will offer a broader perspective and more forward-looking approach to solving current issues and preparing for future challenges.

Registration for the second ISPO Academy – Retailers Training Program is now open. The two-day course costs just RMB 988 per person. Returning participants from the first session can enjoy a special “friends and family” rate.
